The Liberty Edit

The history of the Liberty fabric goes way back to 1875 when Arthur Liberty - a draper by trade - started his “East India House” company that sold Oriental imports - rugs, decorative objects, and fabrics.

The fabrics eventually grew wildly popular and Liberty decided to import undyed fabrics and handprint them in England.

In the 1920s, Liberty began to produce miniature floral, paisley & abstract prints that became known as “Liberty Prints”.
